2SLGBTQIA+
2SLGBTQIA+ individuals living with rare disease and chronic illness often navigate unique challenges at the intersection of healthcare, identity, advocacy, and belonging. From discrimination and medical bias to gaps in affirming care and mental health support, these experiences can deeply impact overall well-being and access to resources.
This space is designed to connect the 2SLGBTQIA+ community with supportive resources, organizations, educational tools, and stories that affirm the full spectrum of identity and lived experience.
Join us for our annual pride campaign every June!
Rare & Radiant
Join us in celebrating rare disease voices, resilience, and pride. Each June, this month-long campaign shines a light on the intersection of rare disease and LGBTQIA+ identities through three powerful experiences: a social media takeover challenge, an educational webinar briefing, and a virtual art showcase. Together, they amplify stories, inspire action, and honor the brilliance and diversity within our community.
On SOS materials, we commonly use the acronym LGBTQIA+ to refer to an intersection of the community. We may sometimes use other variations on this acronym in different contexts for a variety of reasons and understand that individuals often have personal preferences about which acronym they use when referring to the community.
Context matters.
